1/ General conditions of use

Q: Do I need to be of legal age to use Allopass?

A: Absolutely! Only those of legal age can use our payment solutions and receive outpayments.

Q: When I use Allopass, do I maintain control of my site?

A: Certainly! We do not interfere with your site's content. We simply offer you a paid-access system. You can continue to change your pages at any time, as you always have.

Q: Do I have to open several accounts if I have several sites?

A: You can only have one Allopass account, you may use our payment system on multiple sites.

Q: Is my customer required to remain connected with the Allopass telephone number for the duration of his visit to my site?

A: No. Allopass is not a pay-per-minute system, it is a pay-per-click system. The access code is obtained in 90 seconds.
Once the customer has obtained a code, they can hang up.

Q: Are all users given the same access code for my paid-access content?

A: No, each access code Allopass generates for your paid-access content is unique.

Q: What countries are covered by Allopass ?

A: At this time, Allopass covers Metropolitan France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Great Britain, Canada, Holland, Spain, Austria, Luxembourg, Italy, the USA, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia, Sweden, Ireland and Norway with Audiotel and SMS. For countries that do not have premium rate numbers (PRS), payment may still be made by bank card.
Allopass is the most complete system of micropayment by Audiotel on the market. And we are constantly adding new countries to our coverage area.

Q: Is Allopass free to use?

A: There are no subscription fees, and you can open an account free of charge. Allopass simply earns a percentage of the fees that users pay for access to sites.
In brief, your only obligations are to conform with our General Conditions of Use (see Allopass Rules) and French law.

Q: Do I have to generate a minimum number of paid accesses each month or each year?

A: No. You can generate 1 access per year or 1000 per day. Obviously, we hope you will have as many as possible with Allopass!

Q: Is there documentation required in order to open an account?

A: For an individual account, there is no documentation required.
Just be sure to complete your application form carefully.
In particular, since your outpayments will be sent by postal mail, your postal address must be accurate! If you are registered as a business, the list of required documents can be found on the business account application form.

Q: How can I modify my personal data?

A: You can modify all your personal data in your Webmaster Area under the heading "Personal Data".

2/ Implementation and operation:

Codes and payment solutions

Q: Can I choose the period of validity for the access codes?

A: Yes! You can choose parameters that make the codes good one time only or several times, or during a certain period of time.

Q: If I change the period of validity of the codes for a given document, what happens to the codes that have already been purchased?

A: The codes already purchased will retain their original characteristics.

Q: Take the example of a code valid for 10 days. Does the period of validity start as soon as the code is obtained by telephone?

A: No. The period of validity for a code begins on the first day it is used on your site. The initial use of a code must be within 30 days of when it is obtained.

Q: Can I implement paid access for multiple documents on my site, with a different rate for each one?

A: Yes. Allopass allows you to implement paid access for multiple documents on one or multiple sites, all using a single Allopass account. For each document, you can apply different prices and different periods of validity for the access codes.

Q: Can I put multiple payment solutions (Telephone and Card) on the same page in order to offer my customers multiple access methods and different content?

A: Yes, one entry page can contain several payment scripts (Audiotel and card) for access to assorted content. You can also redirect your client to the same content with access by telephone and bank card (subscriber pass) by making these two options compatible. For more information, please see "Document Management", the form used to create bank card and subscriber pass documents. Remember to only keep the cookie-based security scripts that correspond to the Audiotel document (pay-per-click) on your return page.

Q: I have configured a document so that its access codes are good for 10 days. Are these codes also valid for accessing other documents on my site that have the same price?

A: No. When a customer uses a valid code to access one of your pages, the code remains valid for the period or number of uses you have chosen, but only for that same document.

Configuration of documents/scripts and Allopass account information:

Q: I am registered, but I don't understand the difference between "Add a site" and "Add a document"

A: Before entering the pages or documents for which you want to create paid access, you must enter the sites they belong to.
If you have only one site, you must enter that site, then configure all the documents you want to protect.
This organisation by site is designed to make your statistics easier to read.

Q: There is a video on my site that I would like to make paid-access. How can I do this?

A: Create a new document on Allopass. Make its return URL the URL of your video. For example, if your video is on your site, in a folder called "video", in a file called "clip.avi", enter the return URL http://www.mysite.com/video/clip.avi Don't forget to install your cookie-based security script on the return page.
For a more sophisticated approach, please look at the "Technical Information" section in your Webmaster Area.

Q: I added a document, but now I want to change the URL. How can I do this?

A: Just click on its name and a form display to allow you to modify its parameters, including the URL. You do not need to reinstall the payment scripts.
Important! If you modify the rates or add/remove price brackets for your Allopass documents, you must reinstall the scripts on your pages.

Q: I want to install my Allopass script on my web page, but part or none of the script is displayed. What is the problem?

A: Occasionally, some HTML editors (such as FrontPage) do not recognise certain HTML tags in your scripts and modify them automatically. This can cause problems displaying your script.
You should try to directly modify the source code of your page. (For example, open your page with Windows Notepad. Next, do a copy-paste of the script to the place where it should be displayed. Then do "File - Save", and it should work fine.)

Q: Can I get the statistics of my Allopass accesses?

A: Yes. In the Webmaster Area you will find your monthly statistics with the number of accesses you generated for each paid-access document, as well as the amount you earned.
You may also get figures for the total number of accesses (successful or not) day by day for all of your documents, for the last 10 days.

Q: Are the statistics in real time or updated periodically?

A: The statistics are updated in real time. The exception is the field "Your income today from paid-access documents is", which requires you to reset it from your Webmaster Area for it to be updated.

3/ Transactions:

Outpayments

Q: What is the minimum amount of an outpayment?

A: The minimum amount for you to receive as an outpayment is just 5 EUR.

Q: I have an individual account and I would like to receive my outpayments. How can I do this?

A: Click on "Request a check". If your account exceeds the minimum level for outpayments (5.00 EUR), you can enter the amount you would like to receive.
Checks are normally sent within 48 hours.

Q: How will I be paid?

A: Allopass will send you a cheque in euros or your local currency (depending on the country), by postal mail.

Q: I have an individual account. Do I have to declare my Allopass earnings?

A: Absolutely! You must declare your Allopass earnings to the appropriate fiscal authorities. However, you do not need to pay VAT on the earnings since Allopass pays you with the VAT already excluded. (Compare this with some other companies whose payments include VAT.) Since situations may differ, please contact your fiscal authorities for the details of how you should declare your earnings.

Q: Concerning income from Allopass sponsorship programs, is 10% deducted from my associate's earnings?

A: No, the 10% that you earn from the accesses to your associate's documents is taken from our margin. Therefore, your associate receives their full access fee, and you earn an additional 10% for the new Allopass customer.

Affiliate program: sharing customers with one or more partners

Q: Some users come to my site because of a partner site that advertises my site. Can I give this partner a portion of what I earn?

A: Yes. The "Partner Links" area allows you to create links that you can provide to your partners. Each time a user follows a partner link and uses an Allopass code on your site, your partner is paid a percentage of what you earn with the access code.
Of course, it is up to you to choose the percentage.

Q: What happens if an internet user accesses my paid-access content through a partner link, but I have a hidden "AP_CA" field in my Allopass form?

A: In this case, it is the partner link that takes precedence over the partner code you put in the "AP_CA" field.

4/ Business accounts:

Q: Is there documentation required in order to open an account?

A: For an individual account, there is no documentation required.
If you are registered as a business, the list of required documents can be found on the business account application form.

Q: I opened an Allopass account as an individual. Now I have a business account. Do I have to re-enter all my paid-access documents once you have modified my account?

A: No, you don't need to do anything more! The type of Allopass account only concerns your outpayments (so that they can be addressed to your company).

Q: I would like to upgrade my individual account to a business account. What is the procedure?

A: Simply complete the "Business Account Form", which can be found in your Webmaster Area under "Your Account", "Business Account".

Q: I have a business account. How can I receive my outpayments?

A: Please make your request through your Webmaster Area, under "Request a Check". You must then send us an invoice by postal mail.

Q: My company is subject to VAT. How can I obtain my outpayments with VAT included?

A: When you request an outpayment/cheque, the amounts will be displayed both with and without VAT. You must indicate them on your invoice along with the Allopass transaction number and your intra-Community VAT identification number.

Q: And what if I cannot receive the VAT?

A: For organisations that are not subject to VAT (foreign companies, non-profit organisations, etc.), payments are sent exclusive of VAT. Therefore, your invoice must be exclusive of VAT.
